Overview
The main purpose of a Miller Assistant is to support the Head/Shift Miller in ensuring safe, hygienic, and efficient grain milling operations. They handle daily plant duties, monitor machinery, and perform quality control tests to produce high-quality flour.
Responsibilities
Monitor machine efficiency.
Check vitamin dosages and flour quality.
Assist Miller with maintenance of plantsifters, filters and conveyors.
Perform all other duties assigned by Miller.
Prepare moisture and quality control when required.
Report deviation to the Miller.
Proactively prevent chokes and downtime.
Operate Mill Scada.
Flexibility to learn from the Silo, Lab and Packing to have a full understanding of the whole process.
Relieve Miller when necessary.
Maintain housekeeping.
Maintain food safety and hygiene standards.
Qualifications
Grade 12 preferably with Maths and Science.
Milling Qualification will be an added advantage.
