Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Radio Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in telecommunications and computer networking, with hands-on experience in installation, maintenance, and repair of radio communication equipment.
The Microwave Transport Radio Technician is responsible for assisting the field supervisor with facilitating the activities that take place at the job site. The duties include installing and performing maintenance on RF systems. Must be an independent self-starter who is highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to multi-task and handle frequently changing priorities, while providing exceptional customer service and ensuring all system operate efficiently.
Duties
- Install and configure DC battery plants/ strings.
- Install microwaves such as: radio racks, cable tray, fiber raceway, anchoring, rectifier, and battery.
- Upgrade and test microwave radios such as: Nokia Wavence and Cambium PTP radios.
- Perform cross connect circuits on DSX panels.
- Prepare bill of materials, schematics, rack layouts.
- Troubleshoot & evaluate data related to microwave systems.
- Provide basic daily project updates as needed.
- Ensure job site pictures are downloaded, labeled and sent as needed.
- Interact with clients as directed in a professional manner.
- Demonstrate care for all company property.
- Acknowledge and reply to emails in a timely manner.
- Meet daily timekeeping requirements utilizing mobile app or desktop.
- Exhibit polite and professional communication via phone, email, and face-to-face.
- Maintain clean, safe, free of hazards and orderly environment, and adhere to all Company and industry (i.e., OSHA) standards/regulations.
- Conduct business in an ethical and trustworthy manner at all times.

Requirements

- Basic understanding of data communication networking that applies to the 7-layer OSI basic model and the 4-layer TCP/IP model.
- Understanding of radio alarm, wire wrap and equipment rack.
- Understanding of fiber jumper, coax, and wave guide
- Advanced understanding of test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, RF power meters, BER testers, frequency counters, network analyzers, and RF line sweep equipment.
- Advanced knowledge of DC power installation.
- Advanced knowledge of microwave radio link interface transport techniques and terminology.
- Ability to perform basic functions within Procore such as: file sharing, daily updates, and observations.
- Proficient and skilled in all facets of Transport Microwave Technician L1.
- Proficient with MS Office, Word, Excel, Adobe Reader; and other related software.
- Must be at least 25 years of age to be eligible to operate company vehicles.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required.

Education and Experience
- High school diploma, or equivalent.
- At least (2+) years of related experience preferred.
- Microwave radio integration certificate from major radio brand required.

Safety precautions and adherence to safety protocols are essential in this role. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.

Pay: $22.00 – $34.00 per hour
