Our Client, an innovative brand offering fashionable beauty products, stylish accessories, quality lifestyle items and fun stationery and toys, is seeking an experienced Merchandise Planner & Allocator to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, forecasting, and allocating merchandise to maximize sales and meet customer demand while minimizing excess inventory.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Planning & Stock Optimization
- Maintain optimum inventory levels across all stores
- Ensure balanced stock allocation based on store size, sales performance, and customer profile
- Monitor stock availability and prevent stock-outs
- Control excess inventory and overstock situations
Seasonal Planning & SKU Pricing Support
- Support seasonal merchandise planning and product launches
- Work closely with merchandising teams to align SKU pricing with planning strategy
- Ensure 100% timely seasonal launches across stores
Product Availability Across Stores
- Monitor stock availability across all stores
- Ensure minimum 95% product availability
- Identify fast-moving and slow-moving SKUs and recommend replenishment actions
Sales Through Monitoring
- Track SKU sales performance and sell-through rates
- Analyze weekly and monthly sales data
- Recommend replenishment, transfers, or markdown strategies
- Support the merchandising team in improving category performance
SKU Performance & Ageing Monitoring
- Monitor SKU productivity and performance trends
- Track ageing inventory and dead stock
- Recommend clearance strategies for slow-moving items
- Ensure ageing stock remains within company limits
Warehouse Coordination
- Coordinate with warehouse teams for:
- Stock movement
- Stock accuracy
- Stock transfers
- Ensure efficient warehouse space utilization
- Support warehouse in inventory reconciliation and cycle counts
MIS Reporting
- Prepare and share Daily inventory reports, Weekly sales performance reports and Monthly planning reports
- Ensure 100% timely MIS reporting to management
Commercial Coordination
- Work with finance and audit teams to resolve Stock discrepancies, Inventory mismatches, Commercial issues
- Ensure timely resolution of stock issues and process corrections
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Merchandising, or related field
- 5-6 years experience in merchandise planning, allocation, or inventory management
- Experience in multi-store retail environment preferred
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and forecasting tools
- Experience with retail merchandise planning systems and ERP software
- Advanced Excel and data analysis capability
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple priorities
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of retail operations and supply chain management
