SUMMARY:
Our client, a well known medical / surgical supplier requires a Medical Sales Representative for the Pretoria / Johannesburg region. Spine portfolio experience is essential. The territory is predominantly Pretoria.
POSITION INFO:
Qualifications and Experience:
- BSc Degree in Human Movement, Health Sciences / Anatomy / Physiology or related field
- Minimum 4-5 years’ medical device sales experience
- Spine portfolio experience is essential
- The territory is predominantly Pretoria
- Strong clinical aptitude and ability to operate effectively in a theatre environment
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- Strong planning, organisation and territory management capability
- Fluency in English
- Valid Code B driver’s license and own reliable transport
- Willingness to work after hours and attend theatre cases when required
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Must be fully vaccinated against Hepatitis B (or start process at start of employment)
- Preference will be given to a non-smoker
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain and grow the existing spine business within the designated territory of Pretoria and JHB
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities with surgeons and hospitals
- Promote and sell the full spine product portfolio within the assigned territory
- Attend theatre cases to develop technical expertise and progressively provide technical support during procedures when required
- Maintain a strong clinical understanding of spinal procedures and the application of relevant products
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with surgeons, theatre staff and hospital stakeholders
- Ensure full compliance with hospital protocols, the SAMED Code of Conduct, and all applicable regulatory requirements
- Prepare and maintain surgeon preference lists, quotations and relevant product information
- Plan and execute structured sales calls and territory development strategies
- Provide product training and educational support to surgeons, registrars and theatre staff
- Support product launches and new product introductions within the territory
- Achieve qualitative and quantitative objectives as defined in the annual business plan
