We are currently seeking a highly organized and efficient Medical Receptionist to join our team in Johannesburg. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our patients and visitors. Your main responsibility will be to ensure that our patients receive a warm and welcoming experience while also providing administrative support to our medical staff.
Key Responsibilities:
– Greet and check-in patients, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and efficiently
– Answer phone calls and schedule appointments, maintaining a well-organized and efficient appointment schedule
– Verify insurance information and collect payments from patients
– Maintain patient records and ensure they are up-to-date and accurate
– Coordinate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and timely appointments
– Keep the reception area clean and tidy, ensuring a professional and welcoming environment
– Handle patient inquiries and provide excellent customer service
– Assist with other administrative tasks as needed, such as filing, data entry, and ordering office supplies
Qualifications and Skills:
– High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in healthcare administration is a plus
– Previous experience in a medical office or customer service role preferred
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills
– Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
– Proficient in Microsoft Office and other basic computer skills
– Ability to multitask and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
– Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance procedures is an advantage
