Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Medical Billing and Medical Assistant Instructor to join our educational team. The instructor will be responsible for developing lesson plans, reviewing clinical documentation, and ensuring students gain practical skills aligned with industry standards. Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging classroom instruction on medical billing procedures, including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD (International Classification of Diseases), HCPCS (Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System), and other coding systems.
  • Develop detailed lesson plans that incorporate adult education principles, ensuring clarity and effective knowledge transfer.
  • Review student documentation, assignments, and clinical records to assess accuracy and compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Guide students through hands-on training in medical office procedures, emphasizing health information management, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
  • Incorporate real-world scenarios to teach Epic electronic health record systems, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and documentation review techniques.
  • Evaluate student progress through assessments, provide constructive feedback, and adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Stay current with industry updates in medical coding, billing practices, and healthcare regulations to ensure curriculum relevance and accuracy.

Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of Epic electronic health record systems and medical office workflows.
  • Strong understanding of CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems, HCPCS codes, and overall medical coding principles.
  • Proven experience in medical billing processes within healthcare environments.
  • Background in teaching or classroom experience with adult learners or vocational students.
  • Solid grasp of health information management practices, including documentation review and compliance standards.
  • Excellent lesson planning skills with the ability to create engaging educational content tailored for adult education settings.
  • In-depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and healthcare procedures necessary for effective instruction in medical assisting programs.
