SUMMARY:
Bilnor Staffing Solutions' client in the engineering sector is looking for a Mechatronic Engineer to join their team in Wadeville, Gauteng.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronic Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of engineering experience in mechatronics, automation, robotics, or control systems.
- Experience working with industrial machinery, mobile equipment, or mining equipment will be advantageous.
Resposibilities:
Mechatronic System Design
- Design and develop integrated mechatronic systems for underground mining equipment,incorporating mechanical components, sensors, electronic control systems, and embedded software.
- Develop system architectures for automated and semi-automated mining machinery.
Automation and Control Systems
- Design and implement control systems using PLCs, embedded controllers, and industrial automation platforms.
- Develop algorithms for machine control, sensor integration, and data acquisition.
- Support the development of autonomous or semi-autonomous mining equipment.
Equipment Integration
- Integrate electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems into mining equipment platforms.
- Ensure interoperability between subsystems including sensors, actuators, hydraulic systems, and control modules.
Prototyping and Testing
- Develop prototypes and conduct laboratory and field testing of mechatronic systems.
- Conduct validation testing on equipment operating in underground mining conditions.
- Analyse system performance and implement improvements.
Diagnostics and Troubleshooting
- Investigate and resolve technical issues related to control systems, automation components, sensors, and embedded electronics.
- Provide technical support to field service teams and mining clients when equipment control systems malfunction.
Research and Development
- Participate in research and development initiatives aimed at improving mining equipment performance, safety, and automation capabilities.
- Evaluate emerging technologies such as IoT sensors, machine vision, robotics, and AI applications for mining equipment.
Documentation and Compliance
- Prepare engineering documentation including design specifications, wiring diagrams, control logic documentation, and test reports.
- Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards, safety regulations, and mining equipment specifications.
Collaboration
- Work closely with mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, software developers, and production teams to ensure integrated system performance.
- Collaborate with product development teams to translate operational mining requirements into engineering solutions.
