Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mechanical Technician role based in Cairo, Egypt. The Mechanical Technician will perform routine and preventive maintenance on production equipment and utilities to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operation. Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical issues, troubleshooting breakdowns, and performing repairs and adjustments on pumps, mixers, conveyors, and related plant machinery. The role also involves executing maintenance schedules, documenting work performed, maintaining spare parts inventory, and supporting equipment installations, upgrades, and commissioning. The Mechanical Technician will collaborate closely with production, quality, and safety teams to minimize downtime and comply with all health, safety, and environmental standards.
Qualifications
- Strong equipment maintenance capabilities, including Equipment Maintenance and general Maintenance skills.
- Proficiency in Maintenance & Repair, with hands-on experience repairing and servicing industrial machinery.
- Ability to perform Preventive Maintenance, follow maintenance plans, and apply best practices to reduce unplanned downtime.
- Solid Troubleshooting skills to diagnose mechanical faults, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
- Technical diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
- Experience working in an industrial plant environment, preferably in chemicals, process industries, or manufacturing.
- Familiarity with mechanical systems such as pumps, gearboxes, compressors, piping, and rotating equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, manuals, and maintenance documentation.
- Commitment to safety practices and adherence to HSE procedures and lockout/tagout standards.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate with operations and engineering teams.
