Job Description
Position: Marketing & Communications Coordinator
Type: Permanent, remote position based in the Cape Town area
Salary & Benefits: Commensurate with the NPO industry
Reporting to: Marketing and Social Media Manager
Roles and Responsibilities
- Receive and action poster and marketing material requests; maintain and update the request register.
- Assist with basic design of marketing materials (graphics and video).
- Assist with content creation, social media posting, and preparation of the social media calendar; support regional Facebook editors. Act as back-up for website publishing (WordPress).
- Draft content for media releases, e-newsletters, campaigns, and events.
- Assist the Head: Marketing & Communication with media liaison and internal communication.
- Provide ad-hoc administrative support to the Marketing & Communications Department.
- Liaise with internal CANSA departments to support marketing requests.
- Collect information and statistics to support newsletters, campaigns, and website content.
Qualifications And Requirements
- Minimum Grade 12; tertiary qualification in Marketing or related field advantageous.
- Proven experience in marketing, communications, or design-related roles.
- Courses in design systems tools and web publishing systems preferred.
- Proficient in Canva (or similar design tools) and WordPress (or similar web publishing platforms).
- Knowledge and practical use of social media platforms: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, and TikTok.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Afrikaans.
- Computer literacy: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Zoom, Teams.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organisational skills.
- Ability to prioritise tasks, work independently, collaborate with a team, and manage pressure.
- Must have stable internet connectivity and a secure, private workspace for remote work.
- Valid driver’s license for occasional attendance at local CANSA events.
