Eleven West is hiring for a newly licensed Tier 1 Unit Microfinance Bank headquartered in Onikan, Lagos Island, fully approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria and backed by ₦200 million in paid‑up share capital. Established in 2024, the bank is entering the market with a mission to expand financial access for underserved individuals, artisans, traders, SMEs, and grassroots communities. Supported by a diverse and experienced board, strategic technology partnerships, and a commercially vibrant headquarters, the institution is building a lean, digitally enabled, customer‑centric microfinance model focused on responsible lending, strong governance, and long‑term sustainable impact.
Role Description
This is a foundational leadership role, the MD will shape the bank’s culture, product strategy, compliance posture, and long‑term success.
The MD/CEO will:
- Lead the bank’s operational launch and regulatory readiness.
- Build and manage the leadership team and operational structure.
- Drive product development with a focus on retail lending, digital channels, and risk‑controlled growth.
- Ensure full compliance with CBN requirements and lead successful inspections.
- Shape governance, culture, and long‑term strategy.
- Represent the bank with regulators, partners, investors, and the community.
What We’re Looking For (Must‑Have)
- Proven experience working with CBN or similar regulators, with a track record of passing inspections.
- Hands‑on experience launching retail lending products and building digital banking channels.
- Strong operational discipline and the ability to mobilise teams quickly.
- Deep understanding of microfinance risk management, credit operations, and compliance.
