Job Description
We are recruiting on behalf of a client for a Manager:
Auditor (Mining) to lead and manage a specialised audit function. This role is responsible for shaping tactical strategy, overseeing complex mining and corporate income tax (CIT) audits, and ensuring the effective delivery of audit objectives across a high-impact portfolio.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will take ownership of end-to-end mining tax audits, including the management of complex cases, objections, and appeals.
They will enforce compliance with legislative and technical standards, while providing strategic oversight and guidance to audit teams.
The role involves driving operational excellence through the implementation of tactical plans, monitoring performance, and continuously improving systems, processes, and policies.
The incumbent will play a key role in governance, risk, and compliance within the practice area, while also managing stakeholder relationships and ensuring exceptional service delivery.
Leadership responsibilities include developing team capability, fostering a high-performance culture, aligning performance metrics, and ensuring optimal use of resources and budgets.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree / Advanced Diploma (NQF
7) in Audit and/or Taxation with 8–10 years’ experience in CIT and Mining Tax audits, including 3–4 years at junior management level
OR
Senior Certificate (NQF
4) with 15 years’ relevant CIT and Mining Tax audit experience, including 3–4 years at junior management level
Strong knowledge of mining tax legislation, compliance auditing, and operational audit practices
Proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and drive performance against strategic objectives
Excellent problem-solving, analytical thinking, and decision-making skills
Strong stakeholder management and business communication abilities
Demonstrated integrity, accountability, and commitment to governance and ethical standards
