What You’ll Do

The Maintenance Technician performs preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on power plant mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems. This includes diagnosing malfunctions and executing repair strategies on plant-wide electrical systems, electronic instrumentation and controls, and mechanical equipment. The technician works extensively with the Siemens T3000 control system hardware and software, reads meters, gauges, and automatic devices to record operating data such as temperature, vibration, pressure, and fluid levels, and calibrates and troubleshoots analyzers.

Day-to-day work is documented in the Maximo CMMS, where the technician logs work activities, tracks parts usage, and supports storeroom inventory management including parts issuance, receiving, and sourcing. The technician interfaces with the Shift Supervisor to coordinate corrective actions when alarms or equipment malfunctions arise, and serves as a technical resource for plant personnel on mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.

Maintenance activities include use of hand tools, machining, welding, pipefitting, tubing, equipment alignment and calibration, lubrication, and inspection testing. The technician also operates plant equipment such as trucks, cranes, forklifts, and scissor and aerial lifts, and may be assigned to supervise on-site contractors when directed by the Maintenance Manager. During planned outage periods, the technician performs additional electrical and mechanical tasks as directed.

Physical demands include working in confined spaces, working above grade, and occasional lifting up to 75 pounds. Extreme temperature and climate conditions are part of the work environment. Some travel may be required for parts pickup or services at neighboring facilities and service shops.

The technician participates in plant safety programs, contributes to safety meetings, presents assigned safety topics, and documents near-miss reports and safety findings.
