Job Title: Maintenance Technician – Rental Real Estate
Job Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Property Manager / Maintenance Supervisor
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team in supporting the ongoing upkeep and improvement of our rental properties. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in residential maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and general repairs. This role plays a key part in ensuring our properties remain safe, functional, and attractive for tenants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs across multiple residential rental properties.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to plumbing, electrical systems, Evaporitive coolers, appliances, and general building repairs.
- Respond to tenant maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
- Conduct inspections of properties to identify potential maintenance issues.
- Assist with unit turnovers including painting, cleaning, and minor renovations.
- Maintain and manage tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and building codes.
- Provide emergency maintenance support after hours as needed (on-call rotation one week per month is required).
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for larger repairs or specialized services.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training a plus.
- 2+ years of experience in property maintenance or related field.
- Strong knowledge of general maintenance practices and building systems.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Basic computer or mobile device proficiency for maintenance reporting systems.
- Must have own vehicle and tools
Preferred Skills:
- Varied maintenance skills.
- Strength in multiple areas is a plus. We are also willing to conduct additional training.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus.
