Maintenance Team Leader-Electrical

Reporting to the Section Engineer, the incumbent will form part of the Maintenance Department and will be based at Ulco.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Managing the execution of corrective maintenance routines, breakdown repairs, project work and planned shutdown work as per the AfriSam maintenance strategy, to meet Overall Equipment Efficiency and cost targets according to the prescribed processes and procedures as depicted by the EAM Strategy in line with the Company EAM Policy.
• Managing activities/skills of reportees to ensure high levels of competence and alignment with organisational values, objectives and targets.
• Ensuring that work execution by employees and contractors are carried out in accordance with requirements of the MH&S act, company policies, procedures, work instructions and risk management systems and standards. The incumbent will be required to be appointed as a 2.9.2 under the MH&S act.
• Maintenance of LV and MV Electrical equipment, VSDs, PFC maintenance, DC and AC motors, Switchgear, UPS and reticulation systems
• Interacting with other teams to ensure alignment of plant performance.

Qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience required:

• Grade 12 with Preferred qualification of N5 with a recognised electrician trade qualification, together with 3 years’ experience in heavy industry (experience in a cement plant will be advantageous).

OR

• Preferred qualification of N4 with a recognised electrician trade qualification, with 5 years cement production experience

OR

• Preferred qualification of N3 with a recognised electrician trade qualification, together with 8 years’ cement production experience inclusive of the learnership period

  OR

• Recognised electrician trade qualification, with 10 years cement production experience inclusive of the learnership period
• Advanced fault finding techniques and root cause analysis skills
• Exposure to electrical documentation and schematic interpretation
• Thorough knowledge of cement and / or clinker manufacturing equipment.
• Computer literacy (Experience on SAP PM will be advantageous)
• Experience in people management
• Valid code 8 drivers licence
