Maintenance Supervisor (Automotive Manufacturing) Jobs in Port Elizabeth at Ostrata
Our client in the manufacturing sector is seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Maintenance Supervisor (Automotive Manufacturing) to lead the maintenance function within a demanding production environment (Machine Shop).
This is a senior leadership opportunity suited to a technically strong maintenance professional with extensive CNC machine experience, proven supervisory capability, and a strong track record in maintenance planning, reliability, and operational uptime management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full accountability for the maintenance department and maintenance team performance
- Ensure CNC machine uptime, limiting downtime to a maximum of 2% of available production hours
- Plan, manage, and execute preventative and predictive maintenance schedules
- Lead advanced fault finding and technical problem-solving on CNC HELLER machinery
- Manage maintenance planning, scheduling, and departmental maintenance budgets
- Manage an annual maintenance budget exceeding R2 million
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and statutory requirements
- Ensure adherence to company procedures, policies, code of conduct, MIBCO provisions, and HR policies
- Provide strong technical leadership, accountability, and direction to the maintenance team
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Qualified Millwright (Trade Tested Artisan) – ESSENTIAL
- Qualification in CNC Programming from a recognised training provider
- Minimum 10 years’ senior maintenance supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proven hands-on experience with CNC HELLER machines – ESSENTIAL
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in maintenance planning and budget management
- Strong fault-finding, root cause analysis, and preventative maintenance experience
- Sound understanding of engineering maintenance best practices and plant reliability principles
