ECHO Foundation was founded in 1991. It is a registered Section 21 Company, established as a non-profit company. The Foundation houses over 1,500 residents within its villages and frail care facilities.
ECHO Foundation is searching for a Maintenance Supervisor to join the team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee and supervise the day-to-day maintenance operations.
- Prioritize day-to-day maintenance.
- Ensure required materials and staff are on site to perform maintenance duties.
- Monitor, maintain and improve delivery of maintenance services.
- Ensure the access, communication, security, monitoring and surveillance systems, including all access control systems, gates, cameras, beams, fencing, electric fencing are operational and functional at all times.
- Implement preventative maintenance planning.
- Resolve any crises related to property, facilities or infrastructure, including that which provides any service to the residents and staff.
- Supervise maintenance contractors on site.
- Manage best resource solutions for remedial work in terms of expertise and cost.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations and practices on site.
Qualifications required:
- Grade 12
- Relevant tertiary qualification would be an added advantage.
- Valid driver’s license.
Skills required:
- Strong knowledge of building trades, cleaning procedures and maintenance.
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and practices.
- Fantastic organizational skills and the ability to project manage
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Proven track record of leading and managing a team in the building/construction and property industry
Work Experience:
- 5-7 years’ experience in general maintenance in commercial property/construction/building
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a supervisory position.
