High-end Safari Lodge is looking for a MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

POSITION INFO:

This live‑in position at a remote, high‑end safari lodge in Limpopo calls for a hands‑on leader to oversee all aspects of lodge maintenance. The role is central to ensuring that guest areas, staff facilities, vehicles, and infrastructure are kept to the highest standards of safety, functionality, and presentation, directly supporting exceptional guest experiences in a wilderness setting.

Core Criteria:

  • 3–5 years’ maintenance experience, ideally in safari lodges or remote hospitality.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Trade qualification (electrician, plumber, carpenter) advantageous.
  • Knowledge of generators and water treatment systems preferred.
  • Valid driver’s licence essential.
  • Strong technical knowledge across maintenance disciplines.
  • Problem-solving ability in remote settings.
  • Leadership, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail, communication, and cross-functional teamwork.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies.
  • Physically fit, adaptable to outdoor conditions.

Candidate Responsibilities:

  • Manage maintenance programs, conduct inspections, and perform hands-on repairs (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, welding, painting). Maintain generators, solar systems, water systems, sewage, and firefighting equipment.
  • Supervise, train, and motivate the maintenance team. Allocate tasks, monitor progress, enforce safety protocols.
  • Ensure guest-facing areas meet luxury lodge standards. Respond discreetly to guest issues and collaborate with Housekeeping and Front-of-House.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, maintain safety equipment, conduct risk assessments, and manage hazardous materials safely.
  • Support sustainability initiatives in water, power, and waste management aligned with conservation principles.

Package:

Live-in position in a remote bush environment.

Rotation: 3 weeks on, 7 days off.

Uniform, food, and compulsory provident fund included.
