Hiring for Senior Maintenenance Planner for a Leading Mining Company at Mozambique.
Job Summary:
• Responsible for planning and scheduling of routine maintenance and shutdown activities. • Effectively plan and forecast the need for spares and manage inventory to ensure optimum stock levels at all times. •
KRA'S
- Plan and schedule maintenance activities based on demand, workload, skill sets, and parts availability.
- Coordinate maintenance work with mine operations and other departments.
- Develop short-term and multi-month schedules to minimize downtime and optimize resource utilization.
- Conduct equipment and site inspections to identify required maintenance work.
- Identify potential constraints affecting schedules and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare maintenance reports, weekly schedules, backlog reports, and coordinate planning meetings.
- Maintain equipment records, spare parts tracking, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with ISO regulations.
Materials Planning
- Establish effective material planning procedures to maintain optimum and cost-efficient inventory levels.
- Monitor inventory levels and anticipate material and spare part requirements.
- Ensure timely replenishment through proper inventory management to support maintenance.
- Coordinate with the procurement team for ordering required materials.
- Prepare reports, conduct item-level analysis, and implement corrective actions to maintain service levels.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the HOD from time to time.
Education and Work Experience
• BE/B-tech -in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering or related discipline. • Minimum of 5 to 8 years of demonstrated operating experience in mining operations and maintenance practices.
Other Skills :
Strong knowledge of methods, tools, equipment, materials, and safety procedures used in maintaining mechanical and electrical mining equipment.
Sound understanding of preventive maintenance, planning techniques, and scheduling tools/software.
Good knowledge of inventory systems, forecasting, and materials management.
Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
Creative thinking and problem-solving ability.
Good teamwork, networking, and communication skills (written and verbal).
