Position: Maintenance/ Mechanical Fitter
- Install and assemble machinery parts according to technical specifications – Sand casting foundry and CNC machine shop environment.
- Conduct regular and scheduled maintenance and repair of mechanical machinery and components to ensure efficient operation. – Sand casting foundry and CNC machine shop environment
- Read and interpret technical blueprints and plans to understand machine specifications.
- Diagnosing mechanical issues and determining best repair methods.
- Maintaining detailed records of maintenance tasks and repairs.
- Quality control and assurance:
Complete quality checks and ensure that inspections are performed as required. - Implement and enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)
- Machinery maintenance and troubleshooting:
Responsible for conducting and overseeing junior maintenance assistant activities, including routine inspections, repairs, and troubleshooting of Foundry equipment and CNC machines. Ensure that all machines function optimally, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. - Actively collaborating with Managers and peers to ensure a clear understanding of tasks for the day and maintaining a positive work environment.
- Be the custodian of stock and consumables used for maintenance practices
- Actively look for opportunities to drive down operational expenditure.
- Escalate any potential maintenance requirements to management
- Any other reasonable request by management.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS Qualifications
- Relevant trade qualification for Fitter or Millwright (preferrable) – or as alternatively accepted by management
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings
- Preferably between 5 – 7 years’ experience in a similar role
