Maintenance Handyman | Job Opportunity
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Handyman to join our hospitality property team. This role is ideal for an individual with strong practical maintenance experience who takes pride in maintaining high standards across buildings, facilities, and grounds. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that all property infrastructure remains safe, functional, and well-presented for guests and staff.
The Maintenance Handyman will be responsible for conducting routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and day-to-day repair work throughout the property.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on individual who enjoys a varied work environment and takes satisfaction in maintaining facilities to the highest standards.
Job Requirements & Description
General Maintenance
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance throughout the property.
- Check the maintenance log daily and complete assigned repair requests.
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timeframes.
Repairs & Property Upkeep
- Carry out plumbing repairs and basic maintenance.
- Perform electrical repairs where appropriate.
- Complete painting and varnishing tasks.
- Conduct tiling and carpentry repairs.
- Repair and maintain door locks and keys.
- Replace light fittings and bulbs.
- Carry out minor building repairs.
- Repair damaged walls, fixtures, and fittings.
- Assist with larger maintenance and refurbishment projects when required.
- Minor Builsding Repairs
- Other tasks not mentioned
Minimum Requirements
- Previous maintenance or handyman experience.
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks.
- Good communication and time-management skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours when required.
Salary: R8,000 – R10,000 per month – non live in position
Start Date: ASAP – Candidates must live within the area (non-negotiable)
