SUMMARY:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Logistics & Systems Support Specialist to support a high-performance logistics software platform used in fast-paced, high-volume environments. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on freight forwarding or customs clearing experience who enjoys solving complex operational and system-related challenges.
About The Role
You will provide end-to-end application support across logistics workflows, ensuring seamless system usage for customers. This includes investigating issues, identifying root causes, and driving resolutions across operational, customs, and financial processes.
POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities
- Resolve customer queries via phone and ticketing system across multiple logistics modules
- Investigate system issues by analysing shipment data, customs records, and transaction history
- Recreate issues to identify root causes (not just symptoms)
- Escalate complex cases to development teams with clear, structured documentation
- Test new system features and provide feedback before release
- Provide remote guidance and training to users on system workflows
- Identify recurring issues and contribute to process and system improvements
Systems & Modules Exposure
- Estimates, Forwarding (Imports & Exports), Purchase Orders
- Customs Brokerage, Transport, Cargo Dues
- Warehousing, Invoicing, Reporting
Key Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in freight forwarding or customs clearing
- Strong understanding of end-to-end logistics workflows
- Ability to analyse transactions and identify system/data issues
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work on-site in Isando, Kempton Park
- Own reliable transport
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of customs processes, tariff codes, and Incoterms
- Ability to diagnose and resolve issues independently
- High attention to detail, especially with operational and financial data
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to manage multiple support tickets in a fast-paced environment
- Confident communicator across technical and operational teams
Advantageous
- Experience working with logistics or ERP systems
- Exposure to customs declaration processes and regulatory systems
- Experience with shipment costing, invoicing, or operational finance
- Resolving issues efficiently with minimal escalation
- Identifying root causes and reducing repeat queries
- Providing clear, actionable insights to both customers and developers
- Improving system usage through proactive support and guidance
