SUMMARY:
The Logistics Supervisor is responsible to manage and coordinate the daily activities of the logistics team to ensure the effective and efficient storage, delivery and supply of goods. The logistics supervisor is responsible for overseeing employees, inventory control and ensuring the accuracy of all orders. The role will strive towards continuous improvements initiatives to improve the supply chain, meeting customers’ needs and ensuring that deadlines are met. Additionally, the Logistics supervisor is responsible for staying up to date with industry trends and regulations and collaborating with other departments to resolve problems.
POSITION INFO:
Requirements:
- Relevant Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING
- Relevant bachelor’s degree in quality, Manufacturing, Engineering and related fields (ideal)
- At least 5 years relevant Logistics / Supply Chain experience in a Supervisory role or similar position in Automotive Manufacturing or Manufacturing or related field
Technical Requirements
- Understand planning, shipping, warehouse management and inventory systems
- Working knowledge of ERP systems.
- Ability to analyse data and make data driven decisions.
- In depth understanding of logistics procedures/systems and relevant legal standards
- Good working knowledge of data analysis/statistical methods
- Familiar with safety protocols and regulatory requirements in a manufacturing environment,
- Employee and Industrial Relations knowledge
- Knowledge of problem-solving principles
- Participate and manage in projects where required.
- Basic business and financial acumen
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications, with intermediate Excel
- Working Knowledge of Safety
- Quality certification ISO 9001. ISO14001, ITAF 16949
Duties include but not limited to:
- Act as the key point of contact for customers, vendors and other stakeholders and will ensure that the supply chain and logistics operations are efficient and cost effective.
- Optimise the movement of goods through the supply chain, manage inventory levels, order fulfilment and customer service.
- Supervise employees, monitor performance and handle any issues or escalations that may arise
- Oversee the daily operations of the logistics department
- Ensure stock movements are recorded accurately
- Plan and coordinate logistics processes in order to maximise efficiency
- Actively participate in maintaining ISO certification
- Monthly Reporting of logistics metrics and updating of various documents
- Maintain customer KPI reporting
- Analyse data to identify areas for improvement
- Monitor adherence to production requirements.
- Implements standards, procedures and processes to meet the required logistics standards.
