Job Purpose
The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all domestic and international logistics operations to ensure the efficient movement of goods, timely deliveries, and smooth coordination across suppliers, freight partners, couriers, and clients.
The successful candidate will lead the logistics team, manage imports and exports, resolve operational issues, and work closely with management to maintain effective workflow and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Team Management & Workflow Coordination
- Lead, manage, and support the logistics team to ensure high performance and accountability.
- Delegate daily tasks and monitor team productivity and workflow.
- Work closely with the managerial team to ensure smooth coordination and operational efficiency across departments.
- Develop and implement process improvements to optimize logistics operations.
- Provide training, mentorship, and ongoing support to team members.
Domestic & International Logistics
- Oversee all domestic and international deliveries to ensure timely and cost-effective distribution.
- Coordinate shipments via road, sea, and air freight.
- Manage all import and export processes, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and documentation requirements.
- Ensure accurate use and application of HS codes and customs requirements.
- Monitor shipment tracking and proactively address delays or delivery issues.
Supplier, Courier & Client Liaison
- Liaise professionally with suppliers, couriers, freight forwarders, and clients.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with logistics partners and service providers.
- Communicate shipment updates, delays, and issue resolutions to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure client satisfaction.
Freight & Courier Partner Management
- Obtain competitive quotes from freight forwarders and courier companies.
- Evaluate service providers based on cost, service levels, and reliability.
- Negotiate rates and service agreements.
- Source, onboard, and sign up new freight forwarders and courier companies to support business growth.
Drop Shipping & Operational Support
- Manage and oversee drop shipping operations and third-party fulfillment processes.
- Ensure seamless coordination between suppliers and end customers.
- Monitor order fulfillment timelines and service standards.
Problem Solving & Issue Resolution
- Identify and resolve logistics, delivery, customs, and supplier-related issues.
- Investigate shipment discrepancies, damages, and delays.
- Implement corrective actions and preventative measures to reduce recurring issues.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a logistics management role.
- Proven experience in imports and exports.
- Strong knowledge of HS codes, customs documentation, and international shipping regulations.
- Proven experience managing road, sea, and air freight.
- Experience with drop shipping operations.
- Previous experience managing a team.
