We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Lodge Manager to lead operations at an exclusive owner managed lodge situated within the world-renowned iSimangaliso Wetland Park. This is a unique opportunity for a passionate hospitality professional who thrives in a remote, nature-based environment and is committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences. This is a small lodge, and the ideal candidate must be able to fill in where ever needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all day-to-day lodge operations, ensuring seamless guest experiences
- Lead, train, and motivate a diverse team across all departments
- Maintain high standards of service, housekeeping, and food & beverage
- Manage day to day lodge admin and certain financial tasks (check out, bills)
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Handle guest relations with professionalism and attention to detail
- Stock control and supervision over all departments
- Quality control over all departments – kitchen, housekeeping, guides and FOH
- Manage all operational requirements
- Be the front facing person with all guests
Requirements
- Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in a lodge or hospitality management role
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities – people skills are crucial
- Financial acumen and administrative competence
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and be able to solve all the logistics that come with working in a remote area
- Passion for conservation and the natural environment
- Ability to think on your feet and creative problem solving
- Excellent references
- Person of sober habits
- Valid driver’s licence
- Stable work history
