Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Assist in menu planning by preparing ingredients needed for daily specials and regular offerings
- Handle food with proper safety and hygiene practices, ensuring cleanliness at all times
- Cook a variety of menu items with precision, including grilling, sautéing, baking, and plating
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality and presentation
- Maintain organized workstations, ensuring all food handling procedures comply with safety regulations
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service and uphold the restaurant’s high standards of food quality
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a food industry setting such as restaurants, catering, or dietary departments is preferred
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in food preparation techniques are essential
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures is required
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and cooking methods is highly desirable
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Prior dietary aide or dietary department experience is a plus but not mandatory
