Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring quality and consistency
- Assist with menu planning and ingredient prep to streamline kitchen operations
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and maintaining cleanliness standards
- Use knife skills and cooking techniques to produce a variety of dishes efficiently
- Support catering events and special functions by preparing appropriate meal portions and presentation
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety regulations at all times
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and uphold high standards of food quality
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is highly preferred
- Familiarity with dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus, demonstrating knowledge of special dietary needs
- Hands-on experience with food preparation, cooking, and meal assembly in a fast-paced setting
- Knowledge of food safety practices, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques
- Experience in catering or large-scale food service operations is advantageous
- A background in the food industry that showcases culinary experience and teamwork skills
