Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items with attention to detail, consistency, and presentation standards
- Follow established recipes and portion controls to ensure quality and efficiency
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new dishes or modifications based on ingredient availability and customer preferences
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including food prep stations and cooking equipment
- Handle food safely by adhering to proper food handling procedures and sanitation guidelines
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food and coordinating meal service
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of orders and smooth kitchen operations
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or as a dietary aide within a restaurant or food service environment
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff and servers
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and catering services is highly desirable
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures and dietary aide responsibilities is a plus
