Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Heavy Machine Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of heavy equipment used in construction, excavation, and site development projects. This role requires precision, attention to safety, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, and backhoes
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on machinery
- Follow project plans, blueprints, and supervisor instructions
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies
- Load and move materials safely and efficiently
- Identify and report mechanical issues or safety hazards
- Work collaboratively with crew members and supervisors to complete projects on time
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating heavy machinery (2+ years preferred)
- Valid operator certification or relevant licenses (if required by state/local regulations)
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and OSHA guidelines
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions
- Reliable transportation and punctuality
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with GPS-guided equipment
- CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) is a plus
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
