Job Overview: Are you passionate about law and love diving deep into legal texts, case law, and regulatory frameworks? Do you have a keen eye for detail and strong analytical skills? If so, we’re looking for a Remote Legal Researcher to join our team! In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting our organization’s attorneys, legal departments, and policymakers by conducting in-depth legal research, analyzing statutes and case law, and compiling comprehensive reports that inform legal strategies.

Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidates will possess the skills to support attorneys and legal executives by conducting in-depth legal research and analysis on a wide range of legal topics and collect relevant data, legal topics. They will also be able to thrive in a fast-paced legal environment and enjoy uncovering the finer points of the law.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough research on legal cases, statutes, regulations, and frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy laws).
  • Analyze court decisions, legal precedents, and legislative developments to provide relevant insights.
  • Prepare detailed legal memoranda, reports, and briefs to support attorneys and legal teams.
  • Verify the accuracy and relevance of legal references and citations.
  • Monitor and summarize changes in laws and regulations that may impact ongoing cases or compliance requirements.
  • Assist in drafting policy recommendations, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Collaborate with legal professionals to develop well-researched legal arguments and strategies.
  • Maintain an organized legal research database and keep track of past research for future reference.
  • Organizing and presenting research findings clearly and concisely. 

Minimum Qualifications And Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in law (LLB) or a Juris Doctor (JD). An advanced degree (LLM or MBA) is a plus.
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in legal research, legal writing, or a related role.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Legal Research Specialist (CLRS), Certified Law Librarian (CLL), or similar are an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in research platforms such as LexisNexis, Westlaw, Bloomberg Law, and other legal databases.
  • Experience researching privacy laws, compliance, and regulatory frameworks is highly desirable.
