STADIO Higher Education is looking for a Lecturer – Visual Arts (Fixed Term Contract)

Key responsibilities

Lecture contact learning students in the following modules:
Visual Imaging Studies 3 (DIP371),

Graphic Design and Typography 2 (GDT371),

Interactive Creation (ICR152) &

Project-Based Simulation (PBS152)

Complete grading for all the modules.

Conduct internal moderation for the below-mentioned modules.

Provide academic support to students.

Complete all Quality Assurance requirements related to the modules.

Participate in institutional research projects.

Fulfil all reasonably expected administrative functions relating to the position and as requested by the relevant line manager.

Undertake scholarly activities to continuously improve teaching and learning.

Qualifications and experience

At least 2–3 years of lecturing experience at a tertiary education institution.

Demonstrated ability to teach multiple modules/subjects, such as: Graphic Design, Typography, Web Design, Interactive Design (UI/UX), Front-end Web Development, and HTML & CSS. Competency in the following software is required Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Figma, Wix, Web flow, Capcut/Clipchamp (or any other online video editing platform), and Canva.

Experience in grading, and moderation of academic work.

Proven track record of curriculum delivery and student engagement in a higher education environment.

Strong communication and presentation skills.

Excellent organisational and time management abilities.

Ability to facilitate both contact learning and blended learning environments.

Proficiency in academic administration, including grading, moderation, and report writing.

Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and other educational technologies.

Minimum Honours or equivalent NQF 8 qualifications in a relevant Visual Arts discipline (e.g., Graphic Web Design or related field).

platforms. Experience with CANVAS LMS and MS Suite for productivity preferred.

  • Ability to cope with change.
  • Availability to work on Saturdays for school events and Open Days.
