Berea College of Technology, a registered and reputable higher education institution, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Lecturer for the new Higher Certificate in Engineering (Chemical Engineering) programme.
Position: LECTURER – Higher Certificate in Engineering (Chemical Engineering)
Nature of Employment:
Full-Time/ Part-Time/ Independent Contractor
Minimum Requirements:
- A recognised Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering (Master’s Degree or higher will be an advantage).
- Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) is compulsory.
- Relevant teaching, lecturing, or training experience in higher education or professional training environments.
- Relevant industry experience within the chemical engineering, process engineering, manufacturing, petrochemical, or related sectors.
- Strong knowledge of chemical engineering principles, industrial processes, plant operations, and engineering design.
- Proficiency in curriculum delivery, assessment, and student support.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and report-writing skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver lectures and facilitate learning within the Higher Certificate in Engineering (Chemical Engineering) programme.
- Develop lesson plans, learning materials, assessments, and study guides in line with curriculum and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct assessments, moderation, and provide academic feedback to students.
- Support students’ academic development and monitor progress.
- Participate in academic administration, student support, and quality assurance processes.
- Uphold academic integrity and comply with institutional policies and procedures.
