Lead Installer Job Description:
SIGNCO is an established, well-respected sign company in Stockton, CA, known for quality craftsmanship and professional installations. We are looking for an experienced Lead Sign Installer who can step in and work independently from day one.
This role is not an entry-level position. We are seeking someone who already knows the sign trade and takes pride in clean, accurate, and efficient installations.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Install a wide range of signage including:
- Acrylic letters (stud-mounted & flush)
- Aluminum composite panel and MDO plywood signs
- Vinyl graphics and lettering
- Post-and-panel signs
- Interior and exterior signage
- Read and work from paper patterns, drawings, and work orders
- Build and install 4×8 post signs (layout, setting posts, leveling, concrete)
- Safely use ladders, lifts, drills, saws, and standard sign tools
- Drive a company truck to job sites
- Communicate professionally with clients onsite
- Maintain tools, truck, and job sites in an organized manner
- Occasionally lead or assist another installer as needed
- Concrete pads for monument signs
What We’re Looking For (Required)
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on sign installation experience
- Proven experience with:
- Stud-mounting acrylic letters
- Vinyl installation
- Post-and-panel sign installs
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision
- Clean California driver’s license
- Comfortable working on ladders, boom lift, scissor lifts
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
Nice to Have (But Not Required)
- Electrical sign experience (not required)
- Familiarity with shop fabrication processes
- Ability to color match 1 Shot enamel paint
- Familiar with paint sprayers
