The lead custodian performs all custodial and some maintenance activities within a school building. Must be knowledgeable in the areas of cleaning, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, electrical maintenance, carpentry, and general indoor & outdoor maintenance.

Position Reports To: Regional Facility Manager
Overview:
o Conducts the cleaning, sanitizing, disinfecting and maintenance of the school building.
o Participates in necessary painting and general repairs to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, windows, and general mechanical areas.
o Overseeing all contractors who perform repairs, remodeling and renovation
o Will be available to respond on a 24-hour call basis when building alarms or emergency situations occur in the school building.
o Maintains the school grounds and delivers snow/ice removal at their school building.
o Orders and receives supplies and equipment, and maintains necessary inventories.
o Assumes responsibility for the general security and fire safety of the school building.
o Performs emergency repair services as necessary.
o Conducts an ongoing program of general maintenance, upkeep, and repair.
o Responsible for overall maintenance of all cleaning, landscaping and snow removal equipment.
o Serves as liaison for architect, general contractors and school district administration regarding services to the grounds and building.
o Responsible for the setting up and tearing down of equipment during special events; i.e., graduation, conferences, concerts, etc.
o Performs other assigned tasks as directed by the regional facilities director or school principal.
Job Type: Full-time
