FUNCTION

Under the guidance of the Pre-commissioning Lead and the EPCI Installation Manager, the LCV – Pre-Commissioning Field Engineer (Pipeline & Umbilical) will be responsible for: ensuring the safe, timely and compliant execution of all pipeline and umbilical pre-commissioning activities performed by EPCI contractors whilst maintaining high quality standards in line with COMPANY specifications and international regulations; monitoring and overseeing all phases of pipeline pre-commissioning operations including vacuum pull, MEG filling, flooding, cleaning, gauging, pressure testing, dewatering, drying, nitrogen packing, surveys, and installation and recovery of flooding caps and pig traps; supervising and validating umbilical and optical fiber testing activities (including OTDR) across pre- and post-installation phases; supporting the coordination of interfaces between offshore teams, contractors, onshore engineering, HSE and commissioning teams to ensure smooth execution of operations; acting as the client focal point for all pre-commissioning activities onboard vessels, at yards and at onshore facilities; reviewing and providing technical input into procedures, method statements and interface planning; ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with approved procedures and safe systems of work, intervening where deviations, non-conformances or risks are identified; reporting to the Pre-commissioning Lead on technical issues that may impact project delivery and proposing mitigation measures and action plans; supplying accurate and verified information to reporting systems to enable full tracking of pre-commissioning activities; reviewing and signing off contractor and subcontractor documentation including test records, pressure charts, pigging logs, calibration certificates and data sheets; ensuring completeness, accuracy and quality of documentation for handover dossiers; maintaining strong working relationships with vessel operations teams and relevant stakeholders; participating in Management of Change processes, operational meetings, toolbox talks, JSA, HIRA and SIMOPS coordination; preparing and delivering detailed daily reports on progress, risks, deviations and forward plans; promoting and enforcing high HSE standards throughout all offshore and onshore activities; contributing to lessons learned processes and project close-out reporting; and supporting the Pre-commissioning Lead in internal reporting, readiness tracking and overall execution of the pre-commissioning campaign.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent is required;
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in the Oil & Gas industry with relevant offshore technical, quality and HSE oversight experience, including at least 5 years in offshore pre-commissioning of pipeline and umbilical control systems;
  • Strong knowledge of pipeline and umbilical pre-commissioning operations for offshore oil and gas projects;
  • Familiarity with deepwater operations, subsea production systems and vessel-based operations;
  • Previous experience working on the client/operator side in an assurance or verification role is an advantage;
  • Knowledge of international standards such as DNV, API and ISO, as well as pre-commissioning best practices;
  • Able to work under the guidance of the Pre-commissioning Lead while managing assigned scopes independently;
  • Able to interpret P&IDs, PFDs, isometric drawings, hydraulic profiles and CFD reports;
  • Current BOSIET, OGUK, ENG1 and valid offshore medical certification are required;
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English (both written and spoken);
  • Strong communication and coordination skills within multidisciplinary and multicultural teams;
  • Willingness to travel internationally and support offshore rotations, including back-to-back coverage when required;
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with vessel teams, contractors and stakeholders, promoting effective collaboration and problem-solving;
  • Mozambican Nationality
