About the Role
As a Junior Designer you’ll craft the visual language of our products—from brand identity and responsive UI to motion graphics and short social videos. You’ll collaborate closely with developers and may occasionally embed directly with client teams to iterate on look-and-feel, accessibility, and storytelling. Although employed by Hytel, you should expect periods where your daily direction comes straight from a client’s product or marketing lead.
What You’ll Do
- Design user interfaces end-to-end – wireframes, high-fidelity comps, interactive prototypes (Figma/Adobe XD/Claude Design).
- Produce marketing & brand assets – logos, slide decks, infographics, social posts, print collateral.
- Create and edit multimedia – short explainer videos, simple animations, podcast art, basic audio cleanup.
- Run usability tests – gather feedback, synthesize insights, and refine designs for clarity and delight.
- Partner with devs – provide design specs, ensure visual QA in staging, and iterate quickly on feedback.
- Adapt to client needs – follow external style guides or deliver assets under tight timelines when embedded.
Must-Have Skills
- Proficiency with Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere/After Effects or equivalents).
- Solid grasp of layout, color, typography, and responsive design basics.
- Ability to create organized design files, components, and annotated hand-off docs.
- Portfolio showing web/mobile UI work plus at least one multimedia asset (video, motion, or audio).
- Strong communication and eagerness to accept feedback and iterate.
