An exciting new opportunity exists for a Junior Structural Engineer who has a knack and passion for root-cause analysis – someone who wants to know the WHY behind the HOW.
The ideal candidate has and is able to:
2 to 4 years on site (field) experience
Structural engineering experience in concrete, steel, timber and masonry.
Be able to utilise and draw in Revit and AutoCAD
Be able to utilise Prokon.
Be proficient in MS Office tools
Excellent written and verbal English communication
The ideal candidate has the following qualification/s:
Preferable: Bachelor of engineering (Beng) or bachelor of science in engineering (BSc Eng)
Will consider: Bachelor of engineering technology (BEngTech) degrees from a reputable university
Furthermore:
1. The ideal candidate is based in Johannesburg, or willing and able to relocate to JHB North, as well as able to travel in and around South Africa and Africa.
2. This position requires one to have their own vehicle
3. The ideal candidate is available to start immediately or within a 30 day period
This is a position for someone hungry to bring their knowledge to the forefront of a small engineering firm. This person has experience with structural failings and the know-how to find the faults. This person will be required to prepare written and verbal reports on their findings and work with various other parties in the engineering realm – draughtsmen, architectures, senior civil engineers etc
REQUIREMENTS
Analytical and methodical
Knowledge of building codes and practices
Teamwork and communication: The ability to translate technical data into clear sketches or reports for senior engineers
Time management: The ability to organize and prioritize multiple design tasks to meet strict project deadlines
Interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal English communication
