Roles And Responsibilities

  • Process Monitoring and Optimization
  • Monitor production processes to ensure they operate within established parameters and performance targets.
  • Collect and analyse process data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Assist in optimizing process conditions to improve yield, quality, energy efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Process Design and Development
  • Support the design and modification of chemical processes, equipment, and systems.
  • Assist in developing process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and technical documentation.
  • Participate in pilot trials, testing, and validation of new or improved processes.
  • Operational Support and Troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify and resolve process-related issues.
  • Investigate deviations in process performance and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support plant start-ups, shutdowns, and commissioning activities.
  • Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Participate in risk assessments, safety audits, and hazard analysis studies.
  • Promote safe working practices within the plant or laboratory environment.
  • Quality Assurance and Process Control
  • Assist in maintaining product quality by ensuring adherence to process specifications and standards.
  • Support quality control teams in analysing test results and implementing corrective actions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and consistency.
  • Documentation and Reporting
  • Prepare technical reports, operating procedures, and process documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of process performance, experiments, and operational changes.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior engineers or management.
  • Collaboration and Continuous Improvement
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including production, maintenance, quality assurance, and R&D.
  • Participate in process improvement projects aimed at increasing efficiency, reducing waste, and lowering operational costs.
  • Stay updated on new technologies, engineering practices, and industry developments.

Education And Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

Experience

  • 0-2 years of relevant work experience in chemical engineering, manufacturing, processing, or related industrial environments.
  • Internship, graduate training, or in-service training in a chemical plant, refinery, water treatment facility, mining operation, or manufacturing environment is advantageous.

Skills And Knowledge

  • Basic understanding of chemical processes, thermodynamics, and process control.
  • Familiarity with engineering software or simulation tools is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical data and engineering documentation.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and support multidisciplinary projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards.
