Junior Activities & Admin Intern

At EF Language Abroad the Junior Activities & Admin Intern plays a key role in creating a vibrant and engaging student experience, while ensuring the smooth running of daily administrative operations.

This position involves supporting the planning and coordination of weekly social, cultural, and adventure-based activities; managing bookings and attendance through internal systems; and liaising with external suppliers to confirm logistics.

On a daily basis, the Junior Activities & Admin Intern will work closely with internal teams to contribute to a seamless student journey, from arrival to departure, and help foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere within the school.

Other Responsibilities Include

  • Welcoming and assisting students with all inquiries
  • Encourage participation in all activities, ensuring all events run efficiently
  • Handle last-minute changes and all queries in a professional manner
  • Maintain accurate records, assisting with invoicing and supplier communication, and supporting general office administration

Contract Details

  • Duration: 6-month fixed-term contract
  • Dates: 1 May – 31 October 2026
  • Start Date: 1 May 2026
  • Remuneration: Salary + share of USD commissions (course extensions and walk-ins)

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and delivering fun and engaging student activities
  • Support the coordination of events, excursions, and social programmes
  • Help foster a welcoming and social environment for students
  • Accompany and assist with supervising students on activities (daytime, evenings, and weekends)
  • Promote activities to students in class and through online platforms
  • Support weekly student arrivals, including check-ins, presentations, and walking tours
  • Assist with responding to student queries and basic payment/refund questions
  • Help maintain safety standards and collect student feedback
  • Provide general support with student welfare when needed
  • Assist with administration related to the volunteering programme
  • Support social media content creation (Instagram, Canva, CapCut, etc.)
  • Maintain accurate records of activities and attendance
  • Assist with general administrative duties as required

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Recent graduate or relevant tertiary qualification (tourism, events, hospitality or similar preferred)
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive, enthusiastic, and proactive attitude
  • Passion for working with people from different cultures
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative
  • Basic knowledge of social media platforms
  • Familiarity with Cape Town and its attractions (advantageous)
  • Fluent in English
  • Flexible to work evenings and weekends when required
  • Driver’s license (advantageous but not essential)
