Job Summary
The Estimator – Joinery Works is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, material take-offs, and commercial proposals for joinery and fit-out projects including kitchens, wardrobes, cabinets, vanity units, wooden doors, and customized furniture solutions. The role supports project bidding and execution by analyzing drawings, specifications, production requirements, and market pricing to ensure competitive and profitable project submissions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Review tender drawings, specifications, BOQs, and project documents related to joinery and fit-out works.
• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for kitchens, wardrobes, cabinets, vanity units, wooden doors, wall cladding, and custom-made furniture.
• Analyze project requirements and identify material, labor, machinery, and subcontractor costs.
• Prepare BOQs, material breakdowns, and pricing sheets.
• Coordinate with design, production, procurement, and operations teams for accurate estimation and execution planning.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Ensure estimates are completed within tender deadlines and in line with company standards.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and cost optimization solutions.
• Maintain updated records of material pricing, supplier databases, and estimation templates.
• Support project handover process after project award.
• Assist commercial and management teams in clarification meetings and technical discussions when required.
• Prepare estimation reports and commercial summaries for management review.
Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in joinery estimation or fit-out estimation.
• Strong knowledge of joinery materials, hardware, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience in cabinetry, kitchens, wardrobes, and custom furniture estimation is mandatory.
• Ability to read technical drawings and project specifications.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and estimation software/ERP systems.
• Good understanding of manufacturing and installation processes.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Good communication and coordination abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
