Position: Field Services IT Technician
Location: Durban Area

We are seeking a detail-oriented, thorough, and organized IT Technician to join our growing Field Services team. In this role, you will provide hands-on technical support to our clients, ensuring systems run smoothly and efficiently. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, implementing solutions, and maintaining IT infrastructure both remotely and on-site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform system updates and operating system upgrades.
  • Monitor and maintain networking equipment and servers.
  • Assist in designing, implementing, and supporting new software and features.
  • Ensure network availability and security.
  • Troubleshoot system and network errors.
  • Provide helpdesk support via phone, remote access, and site visits.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Configure and maintain user equipment and software.
  • Set up equipment for new users and perform system onboarding.
  • Install, test, and monitor servers, firewalls, and software updates.
  • Conduct data backups and system restores.
  • Implement network improvements as required.
  • Support servers, LAN/WAN technologies, computer repairs, software, virus protection, Wi-Fi, and related systems.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Strong, professional personality — organized, polite, and dependable.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and reporting communication skills.
  • Confident telephone and customer interaction skills.
  • Education: Minimum of a high school certificate.
  • Certifications: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or similar (e.g., MCSE).
  • Cloud experience: Required – Office 365 (MS-100, MS-101, or MS-201), Azure.
  • Proven experience as a help desk technician, computer technician, or IT support professional.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, diverse environment.
  • Goal-oriented, proactive team player.
  • Physically able to stand, bend, squat, and lift IT equipment.

Additional Requirements

  • Previous experience in IT field support and customer service is essential.
  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle required.
  • Traceable references.
  • Shift work may be required.

Salary

  • Dependent on experience and skill set.
