About the Company

IT Support Technician serves as the highest escalation point within the IT support function. This role is responsible for resolving complex technical incidents, maintaining infrastructure stability, and ensuring enterprise-grade system reliability across the VEA Group ecosystem. This individual is not just a troubleshooter — they are a technical authority who safeguards uptime, security, and operational continuity across multiple business units.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Advanced Technical Support & Escalation
  • Act as final escalation point for Level 1 and Level 2 support teams.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, networking, and infrastructure issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement long-term corrective solutions.
  • Maintain strict SLAs and ensure minimal business disruption.

  • Infrastructure & Systems Management
  • Manage and maintain:
  • Windows Server environments
  • Active Directory & Group Policy
  • Microsoft 365 / Azure AD
  • Virtualisation platforms (VMware / Hyper-V)
  • Backup and disaster recovery systems
  • Monitor system performance and proactively address risks.
  • Support hybrid or cloud environments (Azure / AWS).

  • Network & Security Oversight
  • Configure and maintain firewalls, routers, switches, and VPNs.
  • Manage endpoint protection and security controls.
  • Identify vulnerabilities and support compliance initiatives.
  • Respond to security incidents and implement mitigation measures.

  • Documentation & Process Improvement
  • Develop technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.
  • Recommend infrastructure improvements and technology upgrades.
  • Support IT governance and risk frameworks.
  • Assist in IT budgeting and vendor management where required.
  • Project Support
  • Lead or contribute to infrastructure projects (migrations, upgrades, cloud transitions).
  • Assist in onboarding new systems across group entities.
  • Ensure scalability and future-proofing of technical environments.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years IT support experience, with at least 2 years in a Level 3 or senior support role.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Windows Server & Active Directory
  • Microsoft 365 & Azure
  • Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
  • Virtualisation platforms
  • Experience with backup solutions and disaster recovery planning.
  • Proven troubleshooting and analytical ability.
  • Preferred Skills

    • Microsoft Certified (e.g., Azure Administrator / MCSA equivalent)
    • CompTIA Network+ / Security+
    • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
    • ITIL Foundation
