We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused IT Support Technician to join our client's team. The position is a permanently based – on-site role, and the role is based in the Midstream area (between Midrand and Centurion).
This role is ideal for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and is passionate about resolving technical issues and delivering excellent user support.
Key responsibilities (not to be treated as an exhaustive list):-
- Provide first-line IT support to users, resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical problems via phone, email, and/or in person (mostly).
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, applications, and peripherals.
- Manage user accounts, access rights, and system permissions.
- Support network infrastructure, including connectivity and basic security measures.
- Log and track support requests, ensuring timely resolution.
- Assist with system upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation of systems, processes, and support procedures.
- Provide user training and guidance on IT systems and best practices.
Minimum requirements:-
- Diploma/Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Proven experience in an IT support or helpdesk role (3–5 years preferred).
- Solid understanding of Windows, Microsoft 365, and basic networking concepts.
- Experience with ticketing systems and remote support tools.
- Knowledge of hardware troubleshooting and IT infrastructure.
