About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive IT Plant Support Engineer to provide technical support and maintenance for our plant and operational technology environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of IT infrastructure supporting manufacturing and plant operations while providing excellent end-user support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first and second-line technical support for plant-based IT systems, users, and equipment.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Support and maintain plant network infrastructure, including switches, wireless access points, and connectivity devices.
- Monitor and maintain servers, storage systems, and virtualization platforms.
- Support Operational Technology (OT) systems, including industrial PCs, HMIs, barcode scanners, and related manufacturing systems.
- Manage and resolve incidents, service requests, and change requests through the IT service management platform.
- Perform software installations, updates, and patch management.
- Assist with Microsoft 365 administration, user account management, and access control.
- Support backup and disaster recovery processes.
- Maintain IT asset inventories and documentation.
- Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers when required.
- Participate in after-hours support and planned maintenance activities as needed.
- Ensure compliance with company IT policies, cybersecurity standards, and best practices.
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or plant/manufacturing IT environments.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop Operating Systems
- Microsoft 365 Administration
- Active Directory and Group Policy
- Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Wireless)
- Hardware troubleshooting and repair
- Backup and recovery solutions
- Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or plant environments will be advantageous.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between sites if required.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud technologies.
- Knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Familiarity with industrial networking and OT environments.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and endpoint protection solutions.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
