The Recipe for Success: Role Summary
The IT Operations Support Specialist will be responsible for end-to-end IT support across the business. This role acts as the primary link between the business and external IT support partners. The role is fully accountable for day-to-day IT operations, issue resolution and basic systems setup across the Company’s offices and retail stores. Please note only South African residents with legal eligibility to work in South Africa will be considered.
Ingredients: Key Responsibilities
Operational IT support
- Own and manage all IT related support tickets from logging to resolution
- Provide first and second line support for hardware, software and connectivity issues
- Diagnose and resolve issues independently where possible and escalate to external IT partners when required
- Ensure issues are resolved within agreed timeframes with clear communication to users
Hardware and device support
- Setup, install and maintain laptops, desktops, printers
- Install, configure and replace payment devices and POS related hardware
- Troubleshoot hardware failures and coordinate repairs or replacements
- Maintain an accurate asset register of all IT equipment
Software and systems support
- Install, configure and support Microsoft 365 including Outlook and Teams
- Assist users with day-to-day software issues and basic configuration
- Support basic networking, WiFi and internet setup at stores and offices
- Assist with more senior or complex IT issues in collaboration with external IT support
Retail systems and store support
- Support IT related needs for retail stores including connectivity, devices and payments
- Manage store openings, relocations or upgrades from an IT perspective
- Stay informed on retail IT trends, particularly POS, payments and in store technology
Vendor and partner coordination
- Act as the main point of contact between the business and external IT service providers
- Log, track and manage escalated issues with vendors
Communication and documentation
- Communicate clearly with non-technical users on issues and resolutions
- Provide regular updates to management on major issues and risks
- Document common issues, fixes and basic IT processes

What We’re Looking For
What We’re Looking For
- 3 to 6 years’ experience in an IT support or IT technician role
- Experience supporting retail environments and payment devices is a strong advantage
- Experience working largely independently without a team.
- Strong hardware troubleshooting skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Teams and Windows environments
- Basic networking knowledge including internet and WiFi setups
- POS and payment device installation and support experience
- Strong communicator who can explain technical issues simply
- Highly accountable and comfortable being solely responsible for IT support
