POSITION: IT COORDINATOR

DEPARTMENT: ENTERPRISE SOLUTIONS

LOCATION: CAPE TOWN

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: To deliver a support service with regards to PEP Africa’s IT systems and processes, dealing with day-to-day business IT requirements and serve as the link between external IT support and end-users

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide desktop and Country DC Network Infrastructure support

  • Evaluate queries to determine if escalation is required, manage trends and ensure tickets are resolved timeously and cost effectively
  • Have regular interaction with Desktop support management to support Central Office and DC Dynamos
  • Provide supervision, training, support and mentorship to the IT assistant in fulfilling these tasks

2. Store POS and Store Network Infrastructure support

  • Maintain infrastructure by escalating issues to relevant stakeholders
  • Maintain devices allowed on store network
  • Maintain allowed sites accessed from store network (whitelist)

3. Liaise and Coordinate with Pepkor IT Desktop Support regarding all PEP Africa IT needs

  • Communicate solutions and next steps to all stakeholders
  • Oversee coordination with Pepkor IT Desktop Support

4. Provide DC Support

  • Coordinate processes to resolve power and network connectivity issues
  • Monitor DC network performance and take interventions necessary to improve connectivity where possible.
  • Coordinate delivery, installation and maintenance of server & network equipment

5. Manage end-to-end procurement function for all IT equipment and selected Software applications

  • Manage end-to-end procurement function for all IT hardware & software
  • Evaluating hardware & software requirements and testing compatibility within the PEP environment
  • Manage relationships with suppliers to obtain best prices and ensure capex sign-off
  • Negotiate with hardware suppliers
  • Manage expenditure according to predetermined budgets throughout the year and invoices submitted on SAP for payment
  • Ensure all IT equipment & accessories are delivered to the countries via the Durban DC.

6. Control IT / POS Equipment and Software applications

  • Management of the movement of equipment (i.e the IT Lifecycle)
  • Stock control
  • Managing software and licences

7. Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain effective and cooperative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • On-going communication and feedback to update/inform parties on progress until resolutions have been reached

8. Reporting

  • Use reporting information to monitor and keep track of data usage
  • Use reporting to identify anomalies and protect business interests

9. System Support

  • General maintenance of / assistance with AMS
  • Workspace support, i.e Google vs Microsoft software suites

10. Project Coordination

  • Ensure successful implementation of selected IT related projects in CO, DDC & countries
  • Projects will be monitored for risks and issues, communicated timeously, and escalated until resolved
  • Assist with ad hoc tasks / projects

11. Cost Centre/ Budget

  • Ensure timeous spending of the FY hardware budgets

JOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12
  • Relevant Advanced Diploma
  • 3+ years’ systems / IT experience
  • Retail industry experience is advantageous
  • Strong affinity for IT processes
  • Computer literacy: Advanced
  • Fanatical attention to detail
  • Service orientated
  • SA citizen
