The Role: Internal Sales Consultant

This role exists to act as a technical advisor and manage the end-to-end sales process from initial enquiry to order fulfilment. It contributes to the business by providing consultative technical advice and optimized solutions to clients while identifying new business opportunities in sectors like marine coatings and furniture manufacturing. The main focus areas include technical troubleshooting, professional quoting, and coordinating equipment demonstrations to prove product value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full internal sales cycle, including technical enquiries, professional quoting, and comprehensive order processing.
  • Provide consultative technical advice on spray tips, nozzle configurations, and pump pressures to contractors and plant managers.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues regarding finishing quality, equipment clogging, or overspray.
  • Develop a deep understanding of airless, air-assisted, and HVLP technologies to offer optimized solutions.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within sectors such as shipbuilding and furniture manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with workshop and external teams to coordinate equipment demonstrations.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales activities within the CRM system.
  • Utilize Sage and Accpac (ERP) proficiency if applicable.

About You

  • Previous experience with spray-painting equipment or the industrial coatings industry.
  • Strong mechanical orientation with the ability to understand and operate complex industrial machinery.
  • Proven track record in a technical sales or internal sales environment.
  • Resident of Edenvale, Bramley View, or surrounding suburbs.
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable personal transport.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel for quoting and Outlook for correspondence.
  • Proactive professional with a career-driven mindset.
  • Experience using CRM software, with Sage and Accpac (ERP) being advantageous.
