Job Description

To act as a strategic advisor, providing deep financial insights and performance analysis to support decision-making and achieve organisational objectives. This role combines technical expertise in IFRS 17, regulatory interpretation, and financial modelling with a strong focus on competitor benchmarking. It emphasizes delivering actionable recommendations and insights through robust reporting and presentations to senior management, enabling strategic decision-making and driving outcomes that enhance shareholder value.

• Conduct in-depth analysis on listed insurance and investment entities, including financial results, strategies, income drivers, returns, volatility, and historical trends.
• Interpret and apply IFRS 17 standards in all relevant insurance analyses and reporting.
• Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the relevant sectors.
• Prepare research reports and presentations for senior management and committee meetings (e.g. Exco, FRM Committee).
• Deliver actionable insights on shareholder value creation and strategic opportunities.
• Produce market commentary on competitor press releases and trading updates, highlighting implications for internal strategy.
• Perform comprehensive internal performance analysis across the segment, products, and channels.
• Track and report on key metrics such as profit pools, income drivers, and earnings volatility for business units.
• Support capital allocation decisions through robust measurement frameworks and scenario analysis.
• Maintain and enhance internal dashboards for financial KPOs, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Develop and maintain a structured database for ongoing analysis.
• Create compelling visualisations using Excel tools and Power BI to communicate complex data effectively.
• Ensure data integrity and consistency across all reporting platforms.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to align performance measurement with strategic objectives.
• Support management with ad-hoc analysis, presentations, and research to inform decision-making.
• Communicate findings clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Identify opportunities to automate reporting processes and improve efficiency.
• Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in financial analysis.
