About the Role
Thamesway Facilities is seeking a highly connected and commercially driven Business Development Manager to grow our presence within the insurance claims and reinstatement sector.
This is a relationship-led role focused on building strategic partnerships with brokers, insurers, loss adjusters, and claims professionals, driving opportunities for reinstatement and repair projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with insurance brokers, loss adjusters, insurers, and claims handlers
- Generate new business opportunities within insurance reinstatement and property repair projects
- Promote services across fire, flood, escape of water, storm, impact damage, and subsidence claims
- Attend industry networking events, conferences, and client meetings
- Develop and manage a strong sales pipeline using CRM systems
- Identify and secure panel, framework, and preferred contractor opportunities
- Support tender submissions and accreditation processes
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activity
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in Business Development or Account Management
- Strong background within insurance, brokers, or claims environment
- Must hold RE5 (or higher insurance qualification)
- Demonstrated experience working with insurance brokers and stakeholders
- Solid understanding of insurance claims processes
- Experience within reinstatement, property repairs, construction, or loss adjusting
- Strong networking, relationship-building, and closing skills
- Commercially driven and target-oriented
Highly Desirable
- Established network within the South African insurance sector
- Experience dealing directly with loss adjusters and claims handlers
- Strong knowledge of fire, flood, and escape of water claims
- Experience in insurance reinstatement projects
