About the Role
The BIM/CAD Technician (Draftsman) is responsible for producing accurate 2D drawings and 3D models for infrastructure projects using AutoCAD and Civil 3D. The role supports engineering and design teams by developing detailed drawings, ensuring compliance with project standards, and maintaining high-quality technical documentation for infrastructure works.
Responsibilities
- Develop and prepare 2D drawings and 3D models for infrastructure projects using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Produce detailed drawings for roads, utilities, grading, and other infrastructure components
- Ensure compliance with standard detailing practices and project specifications
- Prepare and manage title blocks, sheet layouts, and drawing sets
- Work on cut sheets, shop drawings, and detailed construction drawings
- Coordinate with engineers to ensure design accuracy and resolve drawing issues
- Update drawings based on comments and revisions while maintaining version control
- Support BIM coordination and ensure consistency across project deliverables
- Maintain organized drawing files and documentation in line with company standards
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in CAD/BIM drafting for infrastructure projects
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Good understanding of infrastructure design (roads, utilities, earthworks)
- Experience in preparing detailed technical drawings and sheet layouts
- Knowledge of standard drafting practices and detailing conventions
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under deadlines
