Africa Indirect Business Leader
Our client is a global leader in the medical technology industry, seeking an experienced commercial leader to drive the growth and transformation of its indirect business across Africa.
This is a strategic leadership role responsible for strengthening distributor performance, expanding market coverage, improving tender execution, and building a scalable commercial organization across multiple African markets.
Location: Morocco or Kenya (preferred)
Key Responsibilities
- Drive revenue growth, market share expansion, and portfolio performance across Africa.
- Lead the execution of the indirect commercial strategy across diverse and geographically dispersed markets.
- Strengthen distributor performance through structured governance, capability development, and performance management.
- Drive tender excellence by leading tender planning, pricing strategy, execution, and post-award management.
- Ensure pricing discipline and portfolio optimization across distributor markets.
- Build and develop high-performing commercial teams aligned with regional growth priorities.
- Establish consistent commercial operating rhythms, including distributor business reviews, KOL engagement strategies, portfolio management, and marketing activation.
- Partner closely with Marketing, Finance, HR, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional stakeholders to support sustainable business growth.
- Lead organizational transformation and change across a complex multicultural environment.
- Build a strong leadership pipeline while fostering a high-performance, accountable commercial culture.
Requirements
- 12+ years of commercial leadership experience within the Medical Device industry.
- Strong experience leading business across Africa or other complex emerging markets.
- Proven success working within indirect/distributor business models.
- Strong understanding of tender-based healthcare markets.
- Demonstrated experience driving commercial growth, organizational transformation, and distributor performance.
- Strong leadership, change management, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams in multicultural environments.
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively across Africa.
Preferred Background
We are particularly interested in leaders coming from multinational MedTech organizations with experience in distributor-led commercial models, regional leadership, and complex market environments.
